Toshiba launches Tosh x Shiba Campaign for Toshiba YouMe; Singapore’s first and only 5-tick low Global Warming Potential Inverter Multi Split Air-conditioner
Singapore, 03 June 2019: Toshiba air-conditioning (Toshiba), through its partnership with Carrier, announced the launch of the Tosh x Shiba campaign, aimed at promoting the Toshiba YouMe, Singapore’s first 5-tick low Global Warming Potential (GWP) Inverter Multi Split (IMS) air conditioner (AC) in conjunction with World Environment Day on 5th June. Together with brand ambassador Tosh Zhang, Toshiba is leading the change to help Singapore move towards a greener and more environmentally friendly future without making trade off on comfort and performance.
Toshiba appoints Tosh Zhang as brand ambassador
Toshiba brought together Tosh Zhang and the universally loved Shiba Inu as brand ambassadors for the Toshiba YouMe. Tosh, best known for his roles in the smash-hit series Ah Boys to Men, and man’s best friend Shiba have come together to promote the Toshiba YouMe – Singapore’s first 5-tick low GWP Inverter Multi Split AC.
Toshiba also announced an Instagram contest with an opportunity to win a unique staycation at Sentosa in a Big Tiny house and experience the YouMe first hand. The winner will get a chance to experience a stay in a beautiful mobile house, designed to lessen impact on the environment through less resource consumption.

Self-cleaning Fan Coil Unit - good for home, good for health at reasonable cost
With AC, residual moisture is a consistent challenge. It is a breeding ground for mold and can eventually lead to the emergence of pathogens and allergens that might cause respiratory issues and other health-related problems. The Toshiba YouMe comes with a self-cleaning function that helps reduce mold growth.
After the fan coil unit (FCU) is switched off, the blower inside continues to run at low speed for up to 20 minutes to dry the coils and get rid of any built up moisture. YouMe does the work for you between maintenance intervals so you can enjoy healthy air all year round. This not only saves money and ensures a good lifespan of the AC but also provides safety from respiratory allergies and other health hazards.
Other key features
Other key features include a Magic Coil - special aqua-coated aluminium fin heat exchanger - which helps keep dirt and debris from building up on coils, quiet and quick cooling and wireless control.
In addition, Toshiba YouMe is designed for complete serviceability with an easily removable front panel, drain pan and cross flow fan. With 82 mm of clearance, nearly 80% more than the previous generation, dust and dirt can’t hide in tight spaces and after servicing is complete, YouMe will be nearly as clean as new.
The Toshiba YouMe is available at all major retailers islandwide from 1 March 2019.
